This week we sat down with James Tuckett from One Step Recruitment.

We asked James to answer a few questions about himself and his position at One Step Recruitment and here’s what he had to say:
- Tell us a bit about yourself and why you went into this business?
I had previously been in education putting apprentices into work placements and teaching business and was also fascinated with the recruitment industry and how working with an agency can find the right talent in order to do the vacant role effectively. I am also naturally competitive being a ex tennis player and coach and that competitive edge has aided me in the recruitment industry to search and find the right talent within business.
- What has Covid-19 and the Lockdown taught you?
Adaptability- we had to change some of our business models fairly quickly and this has taught me that we cannot stand still we have to be proactive when it comes to change and not reactive. I have also learnt that teamwork in the face of adversity is crucial.
- What if anything will you do differently after Lockdown?
Have more appreciation for things, from a personal point of view going out for dinner and having that freedom to do things and from a business having an deeper understanding of peoples circumstances. We have also changed some of our internal process.
- What is your favourite quote?
